There are many common questions asked by Texas Communications Online users that can easily be answered.
These questions will be answered in the following section.
A setting in Outlook Express is set to disconnect from the Internet after checking for new messages.
This is a default setting in Outlook Express. To change this setting, do the following steps in
Outlook Express:
Click on Tools -> Options
Click on the Connections Tab
Uncheck the box that states "Hang up after sending and receiving"
Message from unknown addresses may be caused by a spreading computer virus. What the virus does is forge the
sender's e-mail return address and tries to send itself to other people and get them infected. If you
do not know who the e-mail is, it does not mean that it is your computer that is infected. To ensure this
scan your computer for any viruses.
If you use Outlook Express to check your e-mail, there is a setting that allows you to keep the message on the
server to be viewed from a different location. To change this setting, do the following steps in Outlook
Express:
Click on Tools -> Accounts
Highlight the TC Online account
Click on Properties
Click on the Advanced Tab
Under the Delivery Section, place a check on "Leave a copy of the message on the server"
**NOTE: Leaving messages on the server will count toward the 10MB limit of the mailbox size. Once the limit
is reached, no new messages can be delivered to your inbox. It is your responsibility to remove messages from
server once the limit is reached.
